Errata list - Manhattan LSAT 2nd edition LOGIC GAMES

by noah Fri Aug 12, 2011 8:10 pm

Please point out our flaws! We appreciate your nit-pickiness - it makes for good lawyers!

Here's the current list of typos we're correcting in the next printing:

Pg. 95 - Reads: ....that exactly of of Robinson's... Should Read: ....that exactly one of Robinson's...

Pg. 110 - "T" should be filled in for slot 3 in the suspect row - as that is one of the conditions covered for that diagram. But it doesn't show up until the 3rd diagram, which covers the next set of conditions.

Pg. 152 - we repeat a paragraph. Please don't read it twice!

Pg. 157 - in the solution to a problem it says "neither Y nor Z can be even...." but is should say, "can be odd"

Someone just pointed out that on pg. 152 we have a paragraph repeated (with slightly different wording). Thanks for pointing that out - we'll fix that in the next printing.

Question about the solution for #4 on pg 92.

I get why show #4 is 30min (the rule) and #5 is 60min (another rule)... but it is not clear to me why shows #3 and #6 are listed as 60min.

Is this a typo? Or am I missing something?

Thanks.

FYI - There is a typo on in second line on page 95.

Reads: ....that exactly of of Robinson's...

Should Read: ....that exactly one of Robinson's...

-----

Noticed an error in the 2nd diagram on pg.110

"T" should be filled in for slot 3 in hte suspect row - as that is one of the conditions covered for that diagram. But it doesn't show up until the 3rd diagram, which covers the next set of conditions.

in response to your question about #4 on pg. 92 --

If each 30 min program must be followed by a 60 min program...

And if we know problem 4 is 30 mins...

We know program 3 must be 60 mins. If program 3 had been 30 mins, program 4 couldn't also be 30 mins.

Similarly, program 6 can't be 30 mins, because there is no 60 min show to follow it. Therefore, program #6 must be 60 minutes.

Hope that helps! Please follow up if you have other questions, and thanks for pointing out the other typo.

My iPad Kindle doesn't show the appropriate page numbers, so I've attached a screenshot. :)

Image

They're found at the end of Chapter 4, just before the "Pulling it All Together" section. As you could see from the screenshot, what should be the answer choices (A) (B) (C) (D) (E) are (F) (G) (H) (I) (J) ;)

I think I've spotted another typo.

On Chapter 5 - 'Advanced Conditional Statements', the answer to #4 seems like a typo.

"IF J is selected, THEN G is not selected" <- should be If J is selected, then G is selected?

"IF J is selected, THEN L is selected" <- should be If J is selected, then L is not selected?

Thanks! I think that one must have been corrected at some point, because my edition of the LG Strategy Guide has it correctly, just as you described it should be.

J ---> G
J ---> ~L

This is on page 134, correct?

I'm on the Kindle version of the LG Book so unfortunately I don't have the actual page numbers :( I guess the problem only exists on Kindle versions! :)

(Sorry no page number again - Kindle, sigh)

Chapter 6, [Setup: The Logic Chain] after Step 5 and 2nd paragraph before [Logic Chain Power: Second-Level Inferences]

"Note that some test-takers...two columsn listing all of the elements"

I have the same typo in my edition, and I've forwarded this typo off to our book team.

Thanks!
