Im confused on this game a little.

For me I just worked frames as the questions came along and I only used 5 slots and just remeber G was an hour long.

So everytime a did solved a frame I had to count the time and make sure everything landed right.

Thankfully I finished in time and only missed the last one.

However, Im very confused on how we should know the diagram is set up like yours with the time. I thought the time would change depending on who started the sequence.

For instance, if I started the sequence with a 30 min shwo then I knew the next show had to be a 30 min bc the time would be 1:30. But if I started the sequence with G then I know T couldnt go next nor could S.

I think by using only 5 slots and not using the true essence of time as the layout, you may have made the game more difficult than it was. To have to remember that G is an hour long could cause issues when juggling so much information at once.

Your other comments regarding the frames is absolutely spot on!

If you start the programming with G, we know that we will be on the complete hour on which to start the next show. This would not allow T to ever immediately follow G.

I suppose my confusion is when I read the stimulus I do not see how we can be 100% that the time goes 1,1:30,2,2:30,3,3:30.

However, I do see if you break G up into 2 30 segments then it works out.

We are told that we want to fill a 3 hour block of programming that starts at 1.

We only have 1 hour show and the rest are 30 minute shows.

So we know that we have to have 30 minute slots, we can simply accomodate the G hour block by making it a GG block.

Haha! Yeah, there are some things that you'll just have to give the LSAT writer. When they say there are 30 min shows and 1 hr shows and that they have a 3 hr block beginning at 1pm, you'll need to assume that goes 1:00, 1:30, 2:00, 2:30, 3:00, and then 3:30.

In the old days (1991-1995) the LSAC used to be terrified about such issues, but since then they have calmed down and allowed our understanding of the everyday world to dictate our assumptions.

Here's my diagram for this problem, and you can see the solutions by question based on this diagram in the Game 4 thread . Good luck with your studies!

I don't know if anyone else did this, but almost immediately when I read the 30min-1hr distinction I thought of it in terms of those morning-afternoon games. I gave G's hour start time a morning designation, and T's 30min start time an afternoon designation, wrote it out with 6 slots dividing up 1pm-3pm and the game didn't seem too surprising after that.

I also wrote out the last rule as a WT "block" or T comes before W.

This is exactly what I did and it worked very well. Framed it like Matt has above, but always use GG to make sure I didn't make any mistakes. For this game the frames don't really open up any crazy inferences, but they setup more of a foundation for the game as the G block is quite constrained.
