Diagram

This is a pretty straightforward ordering game, so I'll simply put this as the diagram:

G H L O P S N

[LO] - N

[G _ _ P] or [ P _ _ G]

__ __ __ __ __ __ __
1 2 3 4 5 6 7
O N L L
N O

(all letters underneath are restrictions)

Little confused by this diagram. Why is O restricted on 2, and why is L restricted on 3/4?

Why don't the following scenarios work?

1) H P L O G N S (Where P/G and H/S are reversible)
1 2 3 4 5 6 7

2) H S G L O P N (where H/S and G/P are reversible)
1 2 3 4 5 6 7

O is immediately after L, N is after both... Exactly two spaces between G/P... both seem to satisfy all the rules by my account.

Am I just misunderstanding the diagram?

You're right.

Noah's post was 4 years ago, when we first started using this Forum. I don't think he realized when he posted his diagram that this forum removes all extra spaces.

That's also why his number line looks crappy, like this:
__ __ __ __ __ __ __
1 2 3 4 5 6 7

In order to space out the 1 thru 7, you have to add periods or something so that it displays correctly. Like this:

__ __ __ __ __ __ __
.1...2..3...4...5...6..7

So I think the same thing happened with his exclusions on the bottom. He had some at 1 and 2, some at 6 and 7, but once all the spaces were removed it ended up looking like they were all bunched up front.

It should just be:

[LO] - N

[G _ _ P] or [ P _ _ G]

__ __ __ __ __ __ __
.1...2..3...4...5...6..7
-N -N...............-L..-L
-O........................-O

Thanks for calling it out so we could clarify!
