Binary Logic Games

by shipra_mehta Mon Oct 24, 2011 8:22 pm

I'm a little confused about how to work the binary grouping games. I've followed the steps done the chapter in the Manhattan LSAT book but on the "Putting it all Together," on the 1st game, I got all wrong and on the 2nd one, I got only 3 right. Since they make up 15% of the games on the modern LSAT, I'm really worried about them.

I can set up the chain fine but I'm having trouble understanding the bidirectional arrows & which way the arrow should be facing.

Thanks.

That's a big question!

I suggest you re-do those games several times until you can nail the arrows, and re-do those drills on drawing the arrows.

If you have specific questions from the guide, post them in this thread: http://www.manhattanlsat.com/forums/bin ... e3ca59ce8d

Or, find the thread for a specific game in this area: http://www.manhattanlsat.com/forums/log ... e3ca59ce8d

Bi-directional arrows will either happen in a few situations:

1. the game has each element going into one or the other (like heads or tails on a coin) and two elements have to be on opposite sides

2. a rule has bi-directional wording (if and only if)

3. two rules end up relating to create 2-sided e-mails

I hope that helps.
