Any study tips for someone who's retaking the LSAT?

by tara_amber1 Wed Oct 22, 2014 3:28 pm

I assume that there are some people that are in the same boat as me, unhappy with their September scores and deciding to retake in December. I definitely need to work on timing, because I guessed an average of 5-6 questions on each section. I also was overconfident with the logic games section because it's usually my best section, but was definitely beaten down when I ran out of time for the last game.

I just don't know where to start when studying for a retake. I don't want to use the same study method I've been using, in case I've been doing something wrong. A couple things I have planned are to:

1) work on timing by doing multiple preptests, then reviewing every single answer by writing it down.
2) work on different LR question types I was struggling with, understand the question inside and out.
3) do a bunch of Reading Comp and try to figure out a better method for getting through it.
4) Review the September 2014 exam (which I'm already doing)

Does anyone have any other suggestions? Or maybe things that have worked for you in the past and you've seen an improvement on the next exam? (If those who passed are still on here)

That all sounds good--hopefully other folks will have advice about what's worked for them. Good luck!
