P: The sign on the door of room 112 says "please do not disturb".

A: Most, but not all, hotel services provided by housekeeping are disturbances.

To me, both C answers seem right... At least one housekeeping service will be discouraged and the sign should prevent most services. What am I missing? Thank you!

I think you put in both Conclusion answers into your post - so if they are:

Correct: At least one housekeeping service will be discouraged

Incorrect: The sign should prevent most services.

I'd say the issue with the second one is that it talks about most services, which is much broader than housekeeping services. Maybe there are a ton of services involving catering...

Does that clear it up?

P: The sign on the door of room 112 says "please do not disturb."

(A): (Most, but not all, hotel services provided by housekeeping are disturbances.)

C1: The sign on the door will prevent most, but not all, services by housekeeping.

C2: The sign on the door discourages at least one service provided by housekeeping.

---------------------------------

To note: The conclusion (C1) says "will prevent," not "should prevent." Besides that, I'm not sure of the distinctions between the answer choices.

The assumption says "most" in it, so I'm not sure if that validates the word "most" in C1.

Can someone clarify the distinction between the answer choices more?

Thanks.

Hey Ptraye,

Not sure of your question. One of them says it will PREVENT services. The other says it DISCOURAGES a service. We can't say anything about whether the sign actually prevents anything, but it would certainly discourage it, so that's the correct answer.
