Matt Maxwell
Salt Lake City, UTLSAT
- University of Hawaii
- University of Chicago Law School
Matt Maxwell holds a JD from the University of Chicago Law School and scored in the 99th percentile on the LSAT. After years of practicing corporate securities law, Matt is now a professional stage and screen actor.
If you were to ask Matt why he attended the University of Hawaii as an undergraduate, he would tell you that the better question is why you did not attend. After two years of studying percussion and music composition, he decided to pursue something more practical and thus got a bachelor’s degree in the far more employable field of…history (thus proving that even those with strong logic skills sometimes fail to apply those skills). He set his sights on law school, took the LSAT, fell in love with it and began teaching LSAT prep in 2004. He attended the University of Chicago Law School because he grew bored of perfect Hawaii weather and wanted to try out the miserable, dreary Chicago winters. He practiced law for seven years and is now engaged in other pursuits, like acting.
When he’s not acting or teaching, Matt enjoys improv, the Denver Broncos, Charles Dickens novels, volleyball on the beach and the bass guitar.
Matt loves teaching test prep, not only due to the satisfaction that comes from helping students achieve their educational and career goals, but also because test preparation develops students’ intellectual capacity and critical reasoning. It thrills Matt to see this growth occur. Also, tests are FUN!
