Jerry has been proving that a B.A. in philosophy isn’t nearly as useless as his father told him, helping students rock standardized tests – including SAT, ACT, and GRE (170Q/170V) – since 2012.

In a sense, Jerry has been teaching since pre-school, when his teacher Mrs. Costabile would have him show the other students how to put together (and put away) the various jigsaw puzzles spread about the play room. A few years, a few classes, and one B.A. cum laude from Yale later, Jerry moved to New York, where he has been teaching students as young as 6 how to ace their exams (it boggles his mind the pressures put on a NYC kid these days). He also spent a year as a high school choral instructor in New Haven, so don’t be scared when he asks you to harmonize.

When he’s not teaching, Jerry pounds the pavement as an experimental playwright, whose work has been produced and developed at Playwrights Horizons, Soho Rep, Clubbed Thumb, Page 73, and The Chocolate Factory, among others. He has also published research in the Journal of Experimental Psychology: Human Perception & Performance (about a nifty audio-visual illusion called the McGurk Effect—ask him about it some time), flown around the world singing with the Whiffenpoofs, and cared for birds of prey at the Oregon Zoo.
