Word Problem

7 teams complete in a track competition. If there are 20 events in the competition, no event ends in a tie, no two team wins more than 3 events, what is the minimum possible number of teams that won at least one event ?
A. 3

B. 4

C. 5

D. 6

E. 7

Please help me with this question I found on a particular site. I got answer (A) 3. I need others ideas to and explanation. thank you.

First thing's first. Please make sure that whenever you post something, it's grammatically correct. Your post contains this phrase: "no two team wins more than 3 events." I don't know what that means. I'm going to assume the question I actually said "no team wins more than 3 events," but please be more careful in the future.

If there are 20 events, and no team won more than 3 events, then every team must have won something, because even if six teams won 3 events, that would only use up 18 of the events, so the final team would win the last 2 events. So the answer is all 7!

Aha! I see the problem. In the future, do not use this site. Honestly, if you ever see a serious grammatical/spelling error in a question, it tells you that you are using sub-par material. This could really hurt your study process. Make sure to go with a well-known, reputable company's material!
