Verisimilar Example?

by yiyang07 Mon Mar 17, 2014 2:31 pm

What is the rule on that?

For example the book talks about how Sweden require 2nd language? What if I dont actually know a country that actually require a 2nd language (I am sure there are and can probably wikipedia one)? Can I just say something like China has mandatory requirement. Do they care if the example is actually valid (I dont think they would know if it is valid either...)?

Can I just make up examples as long as they are believable? (like some random bird that is about to go extinct in west africa...some random fake emperor in china that started universal free education??)

Even better..scientific study that support your argument. I am sure I can find something in journal data bases but just havent done so yet.

"Study shown that strong believe in religion is associated with distrust of birth control." Is there such research? probably. Did I make it up? yea....

Hey Y,

Yes, you can absolutely make up credible examples and all will be well. Of course, you wouldn't want to make up all your examples (that would be greedy), so try to think up at least one good one from real life!

Also, be careful with your writing. The main thing you're being tested on is your writing proficiency, and I'm seeing many grammatical errors in your posts on here. Use the forum as a place to practice GRE-level writing, because they'll be on the lookout for it! : )

Good luck!
