use of calculator

i came across a tricky calculation while solving the 'check you skills problems" in the fractions, decimals and percentage guide.
this one(problem no. 13) is on page 94 and solution on page 96.
when i got to that step, i stopped! it seemed like it is a time consuming thing even if i use the calculator to get an answer.. so i checked the solution and there is a calculator sign in the solution. do we have to actually calculate the value by multiplying 1.035 to itself 11 more times? or there is a simpler method i dont know about.

Please help.

There's no way to add interest 11 times without adding interest 11 times! : )
