solving for a variable when the variable is an exponent

by clinicmaggie Sat Jul 04, 2015 2:28 pm

I have to go back to the basics - how do I solve a variable when the variable is an exponent? Can you explain this process, step by step?
Thank you!

Hey Clinic,

This isn't really a forum for explaining basic math concepts. If you're looking for a primer on that, I'd recommend our Foundations of GMAT Math book. I know this is the GRE, but the basic concepts tested are the same on both tests, so it definitely applies. ALSO, this is taught in the algebra book a bit, I believe, as well as in the basic math refresher taught in our class 2. If you have a question about a specific exponent-related math question, I'd be happy to talk you through it, but it's not within the purview of the forum to go more general than that.

Thanks!
