A number is terrific if it is a multiple of 2 or 3. How many terrific numbers are there between -11 and 11?

Multiplies of 2 or 3 are 4,6,8,9,10 and opposite and answer is 10 but why we should consider 2,3,-2,-3 and 0 when the question only about multiplies?

Hey Komati,

Actually, multiples can be positive or negative. Most questions on the real test only ask you about positive multiples, but if so, they have to specify "positive multiples." If a question just mentions multiples, then negatives ALSO count (i.e. multiples of 2 include -2, -4, -6, etc.).

The hard definition of a multiple is something that can be divided without a remainder. 2 divided by -2 has no remainder, so it's a multiple.
