Practice Test 1 Question 14-16, Math, Section 2

by zainabdanish1 Sat Jan 09, 2016 6:29 pm

Hi! This is related to a data interpretation question. Question 14, section 2 (Math), Test 1

https://www.manhattanprep.com/gre/cat/catv2_exam.cfm?act=Review&qid=462&qnum=14&qrevpos=14&stpid=1575782&stid=401578&tpid=8&showheader=1

Not sure if the above URL would work or not. However, in the question itself, i had trouble seeing any difference between the lines for 2000 and 2009 even though the legends show distinct colors. I just want to find out what i am doing wrong. :/

Thanks a lot

It's not a color issue. One of the lines has grey underneath it (i.e. filled), and the other is just white beneath it, so you can always use that to tell which line is which.

I posted just now about this. I can't distinguish which line is 2000 and which line is 2009. Unless this is also a visual acuity test?

As I mentioned in your other thread, you can pretty easily see the gray beneath the line just as it starts at the bottom. That alone is enough to tell you which is which, and following the line is not difficult. It's meant to be confusing, but I don't believe it's unfair, unless you have severely compromised vision--in which case...sorry! Forget this question ever happened! :)

No problem! And seriously, the odds that you'll ever face a problem like this again are slim to none. I agree it's a weird one!
