"Barron's 1100 Words You Need to Know"

by adeleylee Tue Sep 23, 2014 1:00 pm

So I've been studying the Barron's book and finding the exercises extremely helpful for retaining the information. As English is my second language, I still find a lot of the vocabs new to me. However, for the GRE level, is this book too easy?
If so, should I still study since a lot of the words are new to me?
Any other similar exercise books out there besides the ManPrep Flash Cards?

Thanks a lot.

Hey Adele,

Nope! That book should be good. I mean, it won't be "complete" (because no book of vocabulary could be complete, given that no one knows the full extent of words tested on the GRE), but I'm sure that book is entirely useful!

P.S. There are plenty of vocab books that are good. I would say anything by a reputable company on the subject of the GRE, or vocabulary building at the high-school level, is worth studying.
