New materials for the GMAT?

by naylor.mike Tue Jan 21, 2014 2:51 pm

I took the GRE course, and loved the materials. I got a great score on the GRE, but now i think I should have taken the GMAT all along. Are the GRE materials relevant to the GMAT? I don't want to start all over, but I'm afraid i may have to. Advice?

Hey Mike,

Unfortunately, the GMAT is much more difficult than the GRE. There is a lot of overlap, so you haven't wasted your time, but you definitely need new books. The math concepts are all the same basic categories, but more difficult. There's also something called Data Sufficiency in place of Quantitative Comparison (again, it's harder). Finally, instead of vocab, you have something called "Sentence Correction," which is grammar.

Good luck, and hope you aren't taking it too hard. The GMAT's way more fun than the GRE! : )
