MST 5 Quant Section 2 Q 15 Q Name: More Coverage Type: DI

In the solution for the problem, shouldn't the population for the different years be considered ? How can we directly compare the percentage of coverage if the population wasn't the same for 1999 and 2007?

Hey Psycho,

Well, the bottom graph is labelled like so:

U. S. Population Health Insurance Coverage Type Percentages: 1999 to 2008

And the questions being asked is like so:

n how many of the five categories of health insurance shown did the percentage of the U.S. population covered increase by more than 10% from 1999 to 2008?

The graph shows percentage, and the question is asking about percentage, so we never need to use the actual population at all. Make sense?
