Manhattanprep Explanations for OG RC sets

by brownelizabethanne Sun Dec 13, 2015 4:28 pm

Hello,

I am a Manhattanprep student since September. I've been studying for the GRE since then. I took my first test in November. I would like to improve my verbal score, especially RC, and will be taking a second GRE in January.

I was under the impression that Manhattanprep explanations for practically all questions in the OG can be found on the Manhattanprep website.

I am going through each practice set for RC in the OG. There are three sets-- easy, medium, and hard. So far, I have only been able to locate one Manhattanprep explanation on OG - pg. 56 - #1. I've tried the search function on the Manhattanprep website by typing in the first few words of the passage in question; that did not yield any results. Are there other tips for searching the Manhattanprep website?

When "googling" a few words from a specific passage, I can always find an explanation from different sites, but never from Manhattanprep. I find this unfortunate and unacceptable given the high standard and in-depth resources I've come to expect with Manhattanprep.

As I'm trying to apply the useful strategies provided by Manhattanprep in answering GRE questions, particularly from the OG, it would be most convenient to understand where my strategy is faulty. After any practice question under timed restrictions, I review the answer and attempt to break down the passage and answer choices in an untimed environment.

Thanks for any help.

best,
Elizabeth

Hello Anne,

No, we do not provide explanations for every RC question. HOWEVER: that's what this forum is for! Feel free to post any questions that bothered you (though please don't simply post the question, but explain what answer you picked, and why you thought it was better than the correct answer, so we can discuss where you went wrong).

Also, it's worth mentioning why there are so few posts about verbal questions. In general, once people see the answer to a verbal question, they understand where they went wrong. This is different than math, where simply knowing the answer often provides no information whatsoever on how that answer can be reached.
