GRE code for inequalities

by KarlMan Wed Jan 07, 2015 1:30 am

I noticed in the course handouts booklet, there is listed the translation that:

x^3 < x means essentially: x < -1 or 0 < x < 1

But what about the inequality:

x^3 ≤ x

Does this have a "code," or some sort of translation for what is being asked when they present a question this way? Also, is there a way we could get a little more background on where the codes derive from, I mean, to understand a little more about the logic of the codes?

Hey Karl,

Well think about it, what is the translation of x^3 = x?

All you would do is add that to your translations as ALSO possible.
