ABC is 4 times that of equilateral triangle PQR, then each side of ABC is how many times the corresponding side of PQR?

Hi,

We are not really sure what kind of triangle is ABC..? but if you assume that it is also equilateral triangle like PQR below method will surely works.

ABC is 4 times than PQR (definitely it should be area )

so Area of ABC = 4(Area of PQR)

consider ABC side is X and PQR side is Y

1/2 * X*root3 *X/2 = 4(1/2 * Y root3 *Y/2)
--> X^2 = 4Y^2
--> X = Square root (4Y^2) = 2Y
--> X = 2Y

so ABC side is two times of PQR side.

Great explanation. Let's always try to provide a picture (or a description of one!) for Geometry questions that have a picture (And I assume this one would).
