general meaning of the passage. i can not even understand a single sentence. can you please tell me sir, is there any book or grammar book wherein i can get this kind of sophisticated sentence to learn well

Currentfeminist theory, in validating women's own
stories of their experience, has encouraged scholars
of women's history to view the use of women's oral
narratives as the methodology, next to the use of
(5) women's written autobiography, that brings historians
closest to the "reality" of women's lives. Such
narratives, unlike most standard histories, represent
experience from the perspective of women, affirm
the importance of women's contributions, and furnish
(10) present-day women with historical continuity that is
essential to their identity, individually and collectively.
Scholars of women's history should, however, be
as cautious about accepting oral narratives at face
value as they already are about written memories.
(15) Oral narratives are no more likely than are written
narratives to provide a disinterested commentary on
events or people. Moreover, the stories people tell to
explain themselves are shaped by narrative devices
and storytelling conventions, as well as by other
(20) cultural and historical factors, in ways that the
storytellers may be unaware of. The political rhetoric
of a particular era, for example, may influence
women's interpretations of the significance of their
experience. Thus a woman who views the Second
(25) World War as pivotal in increasing the social
acceptance of women's paid work outside the home
may reach that conclusion partly and unwittingly
because of wartime rhetoric encouraging a positive
view of women's participation in such work

Hey Anik,

As I've tried to explain to you, your usage of English grammar in these forums has been very problematic, so I'm not surprised you're struggling to understand these complex passages. You need to take an ESL or TOEFL class, as well as begin reading in English for a couple hours a day, preferably in scholarly subjects like social science, hard science, and history. There's no easy way to improve reading comprehension. Many students need to work on this before they can tackle the GRE.

Good luck!

Hey Anik,

The connection between your grammar and your struggle to understand complex syntax is one and the same. My recommendations are the same recommendations I give anyone who is struggling to understand. If you said "I don't get the details here," the solution would be simple. But you said, and I quote: "i can not understand even a single sentence." If this is true, your weakness is just English, as a language, and there are no simple solutions.

I asked you to write correctly as a favor to other forum-goers, and as practice for yourself. There's no need to respond rudely.

Hey Anik,

It's totally cool. I'm sorry if it seemed like I was being harsh or not focusing on the central issue. I wish I had something better to offer you, but I promise you that this is the best and most honest advice I can give you. Learning vocabulary is pretty straightforward. Learning math is pretty straightforward. But improving at reading comp, if one struggles to understand the sentences on the basic meaning level, is just not a small thing. There is no solution I can think of other than taking an ESL class and/or beginning to read in English for a couple hours a day.

Maybe someone else on the forum has an idea? : )

I'm not sure what you mean. That's not the correct meaning of "refurbishment."
