Factorial problems

by vijayvinay93 Thu Aug 15, 2013 7:43 am

Hello Sir,
Recently I went through a math problem and i couldnt get a solution for it... It is really tempting me a lot.... The question goes like this

(((100!-99!)^100)-((99!-98!)^100))/((98!-97!)^100)

Help is appreciated......

Hey Vijay,

We only accept questions on this forum that are presented as real GRE questions. In other words, you need to present either 5 answer choices (for normal problem solving), or else two columns (if it's quantitative comparison), or else you can say it's a direct entry question, which I doubt something like this would be.

However, it can be simplified as:

(100^100 - 99^100) / 98^100

Then we can separate it into two fractions:

100^100 / 98 ^ 100 - 99^100 / 98^100

But from there, I'm not quite sure what we would do. Of course, a real question would have answer choices. This might be as far as they expected us to take it. Do you have answer choices here?
