exponents

Hi,

Why does (-4^3)/(x^-6) turn into (-x^6)/64?

Hey D,

Unless I'm misunderstanding you, it doesn't.

-4 ^ 3 = -64 (because no parentheses around the -4)

So now we have -64 * 1/x^(-6)

1/x^(-6) = x^6

So now we have:

-64 * x^6 --> I'd probably just leave it there, though you could say:

-64 = -2 ^ 6 -->

-(2^6) * x^6 = -(2x)^6

But that's the full simplification, as I see it. Is this from somewhere?
