determining pivot

by smfr.83 Mon Oct 26, 2015 11:01 am

Hi,

If two sentences are structured as follows:

1. Although, X is not Y, however X is not Z.
2. Although, X is not Y, however X is Z.

then in which direction the sentences are heading?

English is my second language. That's why, I am confused about "although", "not","however" and "not" etc. Would you please let me know how to find out pivot in aforementioned cases?

I appreciate your response.

Regards
Fajlay

Neither of these are grammatically correct sentences, so both are impossible. You can't have "although" and "however" in the same sentence.

You also can't have a comma after "although."

I would recommend you only use actual sentences from real/practice questions when asking general questions such as this. Otherwise, it's easy to get into a deep theoretical conversation about stuff that could never happen on the real test.
