Could anyone please explain my score?

by karan.maniar Sat Aug 02, 2014 1:02 pm

I got 317 in the 1st Manhattan online GRE test.
Verbal: 157 Quant: 160.
But when I checked the answers, I discovered that I had got more than 15 incorrect in Verbal and more than 10 incorrect in Quant. So how did I end up getting 317?
Thank you.

Hey Karan,

The scoring algorithm isn't just one point per question (otherwise, the score wouldn't be out of 170), so it's a lot more complicated than is possible to explain (the official algorithm is proprietary). But trust me that the score you got is correct, and that the algorithm was working correctly.

I just did my first practice test. Can someone please explain to me ow do I check what my predicted GRE score is? Where do I find this in the assessment reports?

Thank you,

Hey Jovana,

If you click on the "Review test" button you'll see your score. "Generate Assessment Report" is a separate feature, which allows you to break down your performance in various categories and at various difficulty levels.

Is the review test button the same as the review results button? When I click on the review results button nothing happens. Is that because the test I took was free?

Nope. Review results should show you stuff. We aren't having any complaints, so it must be something on your end. If nothing is coming up, try changing your browser. If that still doesn't work, you can always call student services and they'll walk you through it.
