Topic:
An international development organization, in response to a vitamin A deficiency among people in the impoverished nation of Tagus, has engineered a new breed of millet high in vitamin A. While seeds for this new type of millet cost more, farmers will be paid subsidies for farming the new variety of millet. Since millet is already a staple food in Tagus, people will readily adopt the new variety. To combat vitamin A deficiency, the government of Tagus should do everything it can to promote this new type of millet.

Essay:
The above argument states that the people of Tagus is facing vitamin A deficiency and the international development organisation has engineered a new breed of millet high in vitamin A. the cost of the seed is high, farmers will be paid subsidies for farming the new variety of millet. Since millet is the stable food in Tagus people will readily adopt the new crop and the government will do everything to promote this new type of millet. the above argument looks implausible with few lack of evidences, assumptions made in the argument and the lack of few specific reasons for the data. I would like to mention the flaws made by the author in the following passage.
The first flaw made by the author of the passage is the that, he states that people of Tagus face a problem of vitamin A deficiency that author failed to say the total percentage of the people who have vitamin deficiency is not clearly stated it could be a smaller number of people or it may also be a larger number of people who has vitamin deficiency. The second flaw is they engineered a new type of millet crop high in vitamin A even if millet is the stable crop of Tagus it is not necessary that all the people in the nation should eat the stable crop. The reason whether the people who have vitamin deficiency eat millet is not clearly stated in the passage.
The third flaw is the assumption made in the passage that the framers will soon adopt the new variety the sentence looks vague because the reason for the assumption is not stated if the some specific data is illustrated it would be convincing for the readers. The last flaw is that the government of Tagus should do everything it can to promote this type of millet. The above sentence in the argument looks incomplete because the passage has not stated the ways how it is going to promote the new type of millet.
If the sufficient data is provided for the flaws in the passage it would have strengthened the passage and as a whole it will be convincing for the readers to understand the entire pith of the argument.
