Ratio of Women to Men is 5/6

Ratio of Left handed to Right handed is 7/9

Ratio of women to men is 5/6
Rewriting as, 5/11 (5 women out of total 11 people)
5/11 = 0.45454545.... = 0.45

Ratio of Left handed to right handed is 7/9
Rewriting as 7/16 (7 left handed people out of 16)
7/16 = 0.4375

Quantity A is greater

The concept of Fractions, Decimals, Percents can be easily interchanged, the final value remains the same

so either compare 0.45 with 0.4375 or 45 % vs 43.75 % the basic value remains the same only the representation method changes.

You could also look at actual numbers, but you'd have to grasp ratios well enough to understand that we need to pick a number for the total adults that was divisible by both 16 and 11 (so that everything stays in integers). The first group that does this would be 16 * 11 = 176.

With 176 adults, we can simply divide up with our ratios:

80 women
96 men
(This is a ratio of 5 to 6 with a multiplier of 16)

77 left handers
99 right handers
(This is a ratio of 7 to 9, with a multiplier of 11)

Clearly, we have more women than left handers!
