2nd edition vs 3rd and 4th

by mdpatel392 Mon Jun 02, 2014 10:25 am

I recently purchased the set of 8 Manhattan prep study guide books. They are 2nd edition, is this sufficient for the current GRE? What are the differences between the 2nd, 3rd and 4th editions?

Thanks!

Hey MD,

Well, we're updating the books all the time, to deal with new ideas in curriculum development and also changes within the GRE itself. The second edition guides, unfortunately, would not be highly recommended, because the GRE has undergone a pretty serious overhaul since those books were around. A lot of the content would still be viable (the majority, in fact), but I still wouldn't recommend it. The entire structure of the test has changed since our second edition of the books (from question-adaptive to section-adaptive).

Sorry!

How about the 5 lb book of questions? Are there multiple editions of that or just the one?

Hi MD,

There is only one edition of the 5lb Book of Practice Problems, so you should be good to go if you have that book.

Best,
