Yellow Pad Technique

by DennaB46 Wed Feb 24, 2016 4:17 pm

I love the yellow pad technique that MPREP teaches, but I'm concerned about the amount of time it takes to make all of the lines on my yellow pad. I remember reading that you could prep your pad during the break, but somewhere else I read that you had 1 minute of instruction and that is the only time you can use to prep your pad. Which is accurate?

I don't remember where I read either of those statements and I couldn't easily find the answer in my MPREP material.

Thanks for your help

You cannot prep your pad during the break. Somebody might have one time because the proctor didn't follow the rules - but this is officially not allowed.

You do have a 1-minute "instructions" page just before each section starts. That's when you need to prep your scrap paper. So (as with everything else), you need to practice setting that up so that you can do so very efficiently! Even if it takes you, say, 90 seconds, that extra 30 seconds is time well spent.

If you practice it and know exactly what you're going to do, then it won't take you too long. :)
