with who v/s where

Which one the following is correct

1.It was good to know that the bank,with who I have had a account, is offering good deals.
2. It was good to know that the bank,where I have had a account, is offering good deals.

[1] seems to be the best chiose. "who" clearly reffering back to "bank"

But why is option [2] incorrect ?

(NB: I have made the sentense myself. But it is inspired by a problem I found in some other forum )

Neither is correct, actually. Who/whom has to refer to people. For a bank, you would say "with which I have had an account."

You also generally would not use where because where is supposed to refer to a physical / geographic location. Now, the bank does have a physical location, but you are not trying to say something about the physical location of your account (indeed - your account doesn't actually have a physical location). You're trying to say that you have an account with that bank - so "with which."
