4+32/2-(-6)....

This question refers to: All the Quant Chapter 8 Problem #3.
[4+32/2-(-6)] - [4+8/2-(-6)]

I see that the right side portion becomes -14, but I don’t see how [4+32/2-(-6)] becomes 40/8 as I keep getting 36/8...

Could someone please help me understand?
