Verbal from 37/38 to 41/42 +

by RP Wed Jun 27, 2012 2:13 pm

Hello Instructors,

I am a non-native speaker. I took the real GMAT couple of weeks earlier and received 37 in verbal. I think the score is kind of underestimated. Because of the urge to go to restroom, I could not focus on the second half of verbal. Anyway I think I am at 38/39 range. I need to get to 41/42 range to get the score that I wanted. My weakest part is SC. I already exhausted OG 10, 11, 12 and 13. What would you suggest me to do to get to 41/42+ range? If needed, I can invest 3 months just for SC. I really need to imporve my SC.

Should I redo OGs, read literature, read more grammer books, read forums post by instructors? I am confused on how to get myself into the next level on SC.

Thank you ver much!

reading forum posts will certainly help, as will redoing SC problems from OG13. if you aren't where you need to be yet, it is almost a certainty that you didn't learn what you needed to from those questions when you went through them earlier. make sure for each problem you find EVERY mistake and understand why it is a mistake. also, make sure you have a thorough knowledge not only of the grammar rules but also of how to recognize when to apply each one..
