Please read (and follow!) the forum guidelines before posting.
This folder is only for general strategy questions, not content or specific test problems. Check out the content / problem folders and post in the relevant folder depending upon the source of the problem you want to post (and make sure to follow the rules about banned sources). If you are a course student, you can also ask about other problems or issues before or after class or during section.
I'll give you a quick answer here, but if you want to discuss the topic any further, you'll need to go post in the General Verbal folder (which is the appropriate folder for your particular question).
An adverbial modifier is modifying the action that takes place in the sentence. If there are multiple actions going on in the sentence, then the modifier needs to be placed so that it's clear *which* action it's modifying - but that's the only limit / requirement for adverbial modifiers. (Adverbial modifiers are not like noun modifiers, which have to be placed as close as possible to the noun they're modifying.)
In both of your sentences, the modifier "on mondays" is describing when you walk. The action is you walking - it's actually a combination of the verb and who is "doing" the verb.
