use of 'and'

-For a restless, materialistic generation, family values hold no importance.

-For a restless and materialistic generation, family values hold no importance.

Are they the same?

Basically. When we have "adjective, adjective noun," both adjectives modify the noun. When we have "adjective and adjective noun," both adjectives modify the noun.
