Use of a pronoun that can still slide as not ambiguous...

I found this question from scoretop. People there were trying to figure out what makes "it" not ambiguous? The OA is B, but when you take a look at B, "it" could still refer to either "asteroid" or "sun." Despite many discussions that took place, no one could provide a solid answer to this mysterious use of "it." I would really appreciate your help on this point.
