i think the "percentile" is really just a raw score estimate, so if you're averaging 3.51 your estimated score would be 3-4 (which should make sense). sorry for the confusion on that..
as for how to improve your score, you already know how: get faster! :) of course that's easier said than done, but you should go over your previous tests and figure out what slowed you down so you can work on speeding up. for instance, are you slow at reading the problem? thinking up a plan? performing calculations? making decisions? once you figure this out, at least you'll know what you need to work on..
