Tips To Increase Verbal Score To 40+

by viru5620 Wed Mar 27, 2013 3:21 pm

Hi,

I am new here .
Am scoring in the range of V - 35-37 on MGMAT tests .
How do I improve my score to 40+ .

I am strong in SC .CR & RC drag my score down most of the time. Specifically, I am weak in 'Inference' & 'Strong suggest' questions. On CR, I am bad in 'Inference' & 'Assumption' questions.

Please suggest tips to improve my V score.

Thanks !!

What materials have you been using so far and how have you been studying? What have you been using to try to get better at CR and RC?

I don't know what the "Strong Suggest" category is - that's not a category that we use and I haven't heard of it before. Can you give me an example?

Also, do you think that you're having issues primarily with the reading side of things or primarily with the question-answering side of things... or are they about equal?

Here are some CR resources:
main process:

Infer

Assumption family:

And RC:

Also, are you having timing issues? For verbal, 40+ is the 90th+ percentile - so you can't have many timing issues and still score that well. You can use the below to analyze your most recent MGMAT CAT(s) to see what issues you're having:

Then come back here and tell us the results of your analysis and what you think you should do based on that analysis. We'll tell you whether we agree and advise you further. (Note: do share an analysis with us, not just the raw data. Part of getting better is developing your ability to analyze your results - figure out what they mean and what you think you should do about them!)
