Timing Tables

by VladimirA433 Sun Sep 13, 2015 5:01 pm

During the exams, where should we write the timing tables that we use to figure out what question # we should be on at a certain point of the exam? If we write it on one page of the laminated sheet, we'd always have to flip back to figure out our timing. Is there a better way to track timing?

There is. I actually like a totally different method for tracking timing now and you're in our course, so you have access to the lesson!

Watch the Timing lesson that is part of GMAT Interact (the online, interactive lessons). I want to say it's loaded in session 6, but if you don't see it there, then it's in session 7.

This article shows the new method for quant but not (as of right now*) for verbal - watch the Interact lesson to get the new verbal method:

*I want to update it for verbal but haven't had a chance. And probably won't until things start to calm down in Dec. :)

Let me know what you think!

Stacey,

I really like the Yellow Pad technique...pretty simple, yet powerful. I will definitely give it a shot for my next practice exam. No memorization required and you always have a time benchmark facing you at the bottom of each page. I think the key too is writing the times and lines on each sheet during the 1 minute you have to read the instructions prior to the exam.

Thanks a lot!

Vladimir

Exactly - practice setting it all up in one minute. After you do it a few times, it's fast!
