timer during test

by smotejunas Wed Jan 13, 2010 11:37 pm

Hi all,

Will there be a timer count down on the actual test, or will the only timer in the room be a clock?

Also, I am scheduled to take the test at 8am. Because it is a computer test (and can begin at any time), is there a ~15min grace period (ie, arrive at 8am, sign in, take test that starts around 815am) or does the test BEGIN at 8?

Thanks!

There will be a timer on the screen that counts down the time remaining in the section. You will be able to leave that timer on the screen or turn it off - it's up to you.

Generally, the testing center will not allow you to enter until about 15 minutes before the start of your test (especially for an 8a test - the center will probably only open 15-20 minutes before that). So I wouldn't rush to get there super early.

At the same time, I wouldn't plan to arrive AT 8a. If there's an accident, road construction, snow, whatever, you're going to be late, and if you arrive late, they may cancel your test. Give yourself a little margin for error, just in case!
