Time Issue on Reading Comp

by VWJETTY Wed Jul 21, 2010 4:18 pm

Hello,

So I've read through and am currently trying to implement the strategies that the MGMAT has given for the reading comp in summarizing and doing a headline for each paragraph. However, I am seemingly unable to do this in the fixed amount of time. For the shorter passages it states that I need to have it done between 2 and 2.5 minutes but when I do that it doesn't seem like I've really absorbed the information. Maybe I'm a slow/dumb reader but I need probably 3-4 minutes to really READ and absorb in the information needed to answer the question and that's not including the time it takes to do the outlining. Suggestions?

Yes! Don't REALLY read and absorb all of the material. :) Very few people can do that in 2 to 2.5 minutes, and that's not what you want to do anyway.

Try these articles; it will help give you a better idea of what you do and don't want to do when reading RC.

Good advice. Very much appreciated. I think it will help. But we'll see when I take the next CAT =)
