Thursdays with Ron Bold Face Sessions 2010 and 2013

by parashar.mridul Mon Jul 21, 2014 2:43 pm

Hello Ron,

We have 3 BF sessions on TWR and in the 1st session of BF question type you have given 2 approaches to solve this question type
*Ideal approach: Mapping
*Fact/Claim approach (Under time constraint)

This was in 15th April 2010 session.

In you more recent sessions July 11th and 25th, you have not touched upon Fact/Claim approach and the emphasis has been more on personalizing the passage.

Can you please confirm whether the approach on April 2010 session is still a good way to go or you feel one should focus more on recent session methodologies as questions on real exam can be solved faster or more accurately.

Thanks
Mohan

Why would you have to choose between those? Those aren't alternatives.
The 2010 stuff is things to do with the content of the passage. The later stuff is a framework in which to think about that content.

There's no opposition there at all. You can do both. In fact, you'll be able to do the 2010 stuff much better if you can personalize the content.

Analogy: The 2010 stuff is like "Tell me what to do with this surgical patient." The later stuff is like "Pretend that the patient is one of your family members."
- Obviously not mutually exclusive.
- The latter of these will enhance your ability to do the former.
