The sentence meaning

by ZihaoJ864 Tue Oct 13, 2015 11:51 pm

Experts,
I often see an explanation of one wrong answer saying "it changes the original meaning of the sentence".
But what is the original meaning of the sentence? Is that the sentence meaning of the choice A, which is the "original sentence"? or should I decide it using the common sense?

what's important is not 'the original meaning'. rather, what's important is the INTENDED meaning, which is a function of context and good old-fashioned common sense.

remember—choice A is a completely random answer choice. like every other answer choice, it has an 80 per cent chance of being wrong. choice A is just as likely as any other choice to have an incorrect meaning.

context is king. common sense is queen.
