The Holiday ALLOWED FOR Maria TO WATCH the movie

by JbhB682 Mon May 19, 2014 6:15 pm

Hi, on the SC MGMAT, page 143, idioms related to "Allow"

Following is an Incorrect idiom per MGMAT :

The Holiday ALLOWED FOR Maria TO WATCH the movie

My suggestion:
The Holiday, ALLOWED FOR Maria TO WATCH the movie.

Just wondering,
If my suggestion, if seen on the GMAT, is grammatically correct ? Playing it by ear, this seems to be an okay statement to make

That's not a sentence; it's just "the holiday" + modifier.

It could be a piece of a larger sentence, although its meaning ("Someone allowed a holiday so that M could watch a movie") is rather farfetched.
