Testing Accommodations - Dislexia

by dsayed81 Thu Mar 12, 2009 10:42 pm

Hi -
I've been getting time and a half testing accommodations since I was diagnosed with Dislexia in college over 5 years ago (5/20/2003). How do I get these same accommodations for the GMAT and where should I apply? Obviously the sooner I can get confirmation that I'll be granted extra time, the sooner I'll be able to adjust my timing strategies during my preparation. Thanks in advance!

Great question! Applying takes a while, so it's best to get started right away.

Go to www.mba.com and either search for "extended time" / "testing accommodations" or browse in the "taking the GMAT" portion of the web site. You'll have to fill out an application and supply documentation from your doctor(s) re: your history of dyslexia, extended time on previous tests, etc. It's a pretty rigorous process, so expect it to take some time.
