Test on Sept 30 with App Deadline on Oct 1

Hi I am planning to retake my GMAT, and due to seating availability I was only able to sign up for a Sept 30 test. I thought this would be ok until I thought about it some more and realized the AWA score won't be available before Oct 1. What would be the general view here regarding using the composite scores to meet the app deadline and either 1) leaving AWA blank and email the admin office with an explanation, or 2) put in a 3-4 score as a placeholder...knowing i can get much higher than that (having gotten a 6 in my last sitting).

You should call or email the school directly and ask them how they would like you to handle this. Presumably, they already have a procedure in place, as lots of people will take the test in the final couple of weeks before a deadline!
