Taking the GMAT again?

by davegerstel Fri Nov 04, 2011 10:39 am

I took the GMAT once and canceled the score. I now took it again and got a 47 on the Verbal, which translates to the 99th percentile, but on the math I also got a 47 which translates to the 76th percentile. My overall score was 750. I have two questions.

A) Would the top MBA programs consider this a good score?

B) Should I take the GMAT again? I think I can do a lot better on the math, and can probably get a 46 or 47 on the verbal again.

Thank you for your response,
David

Talk to an admissions consultant - I think 750 would be good enough for any program even though the quant is lower, but I'm not an admissions consultant. We do have a folder here in the forums called something like "Ask an admissions consultant" - so go ask them. Note: they'll probably want more detail from you about your profile, since admissions departments don't just look at one data point in isolation.

If an admissions consultant does advise you to look into retaking the test and you want advice about how to improve your quant score, come back here again to ask!

p.s. great job :)

you're welcome! If you do talk to an admissions consultant and have the time to come back here and tell us what s/he said, I'm sure your fellow students would appreciate it. Someone else might be in the same position.

Good luck!
