OG, or Official Guide, refers to the 3 books you have that are NOT the red ManhattanGMAT strategy guides. One is maroon, one's blue, and one's green. These contain official past test questions from the makers of the official test.
The OG problem sets printed in the books are out of date; the OG books were updated recently. The handout you received has the new problem sets; use that handout to do your assigned problem sets.
The syllabus tells you when to do the OG problem sets. For instance, week 2 tells you to do the Number Properties guide except for the OG problems. That means you'll need to read the chapters and do the In-Action problems at the end of each chapter, but you should NOT do the associated OG problem sets. Take a look at week 3 on your syllabus: that tells you to do the OG problems sets for the Number Properties guide.
Note: the red strategy guides have some chapters of Advanced material. Only do the Advanced material in the assigned week if you have fully finished and understood the regular material. If you are still working to understand all of the regular material, then save the advanced material for a later time.
It is a good idea to save some questions for review after the course is over. Most students do one of two things:
1) only OG questions from the maroon book (OG 12th edition) during the course; questions from blue and green books saved for after the course
2) only questions from blue and green books during the course; OG questions from the maroon book (OG 12th edition) saved for after the course
It's up to you which way to do it; it really doesn't matter. Good luck!
