Strategy for Verbal

Hi

I am planning to give my GMAT in the next month .I am aiming to score 720. My scores on the MGMAT test series are in the range of 600-650. My weak point is verbal especially SC. I also tend to get tensed at the end of the exam when 10 min of exam time is left and get the last questions wrong. I want to know how to approach SC questions for example do we have to check for subject ,verb and then check the modifiers ,look for parallelism or what is the best way? Also strategies on what is best approach to follow to answer CR questions? Any help is appreciated.

If your score is currently in the 600 to 650 range, than you have about 70 to 120 points to go to hit your goal. That's unlikely in one month - most people would need more time.

What is more important to you: taking the test in one month or hitting 720? You don't have to make any decisions right now, but you should think about what you want to do if you aren't in your goal score range in a month. Would you rather take the test anyway but lower your goal score? Or would you rather postpone the test?

How have you been studying for SC and CR so far? What materials have you been using to learn how to do these types of questions? (Note: I'm talking about materials that teach you strategies for both and grammar for SC - not just practice problems.)

Thank you Stacey for your detailed reply. My last two scores in the MGMAT test series are 660 and 650 ( 3rd and 4th tests).My verbal scores are 33 and 35 respectively.For me getting a score of 720 is very important.I would try and see how far can i get this month and then take a call about postponing my exam.

I am using MGMAT sentence correction and CR books to read about the strategies.

For me time management in quant has been okay till now. In verbal especially for the last ten questions or so,i am not able to spend time as i would like to,so rushing through questions for the last ten and getting most of them wrong.
