Slot Method

by dipti_ch12 Wed Oct 13, 2010 6:15 pm

Hi,
As we cannot post OG questions here, i will ask my doubt in context with the question.
If a person has to opt for a shortest route.
He can take 2 rights and 3 Ups. RRUUU
How many possible routes he can take?
I am able to solve it via Permutation method, but unable to get the result via Slot method.

Please help...

OK, I'm not going to answer that, because to do so would be to answer a question about the OG, albeit obliquely. I'll tell you what, though. Read about the example on page 185 of your Word Translation strategy guide, and then ask about that one. Ask in the SG forum, though.

In the meantime, ask what makes you think that the slot method should work. Perhaps you reason this way. The ORDER in which I go R or U clearly MATTERS. When order matters, I should be able to use the slot method.
