Aircraft is it singular or plural ????
you originally posted this in the wrong folder (this is not a MGMAT CAT problem). i've moved it to the correct folder.
here are some tips in response to this query:
* UNCOUNTABLE MASS NOUNS (furniture, water, height, silverware, athleticism, charisma, ...) are ALWAYS singular.
* SINGULAR COUNTABLE NOUNS must be preceded by an article (a/an/the).
* plural nouns are less predictable, since they may or may not be preceded by articles, depending on idiomatic convention and/or context.

in general:
* look for OTHER signals about whether the noun in question is singular or plural.
- if you see a PRONOUN that refers to your noun, then you'll know at once (since pronouns always match their nouns in terms of sing/pl).
- if you see a PRESENT TENSE VERB with that noun as subject, then check whether that verb is singular or plural. (note that other tenses of verbs DON'T conjugate sing/pl, with the sole exception of "was"/"were".)
* ... and of course MEMORIZE the sing/pl character of nouns that you encounter in problems!
